Pharmacokinetics
Absorption of the duodenum 12 (require the presence of bile salts, fats, normal pancreatic function) - 50-80%. Associated with beta-lipoprotein levels. In case of violation of protein metabolism transport difficult. TSmax - 4 hours. Deposited in all organs and tissues, especially in the adipose tissue. It crosses the placenta in insufficient quantities. Penetrates into breast milk.
It is metabolized in the liver to derivatives having quinone structure. Excreted in the bile - 90% (a number of newly absorbed and undergoes enterohepatic circulation), kidney - 6% (in the form of glucuronides tokoferonievoy acid and gamma-lactone).
Return slowly, especially in premature and newborn infants.

Tocopherols are contained in the green parts of plants, especially in young sprouts of cereals, large amounts of tocopherol are found in vegetable oils (sunflower, cottonseed, corn, peanut, soybean, sea buckthorn). For a number of them found in meat, fat, eggs, milk.
It should be borne in mind that in newborns with low body weight may cause hypovitaminosis E due to the low permeability of the placenta (fetal blood contains only 20-30% of vitamin E on its concentration in the mother's blood).
A diet with a high content of selenium and sulfur-containing amino acids reduces the requirement for vitamin E.
