The chemical name of 9- (2-hydroxy) etoksimetilguanin or 2-amino-1,9-dihydro-9-
(2-hydroxy) ethoxymethyl-6H-purin-6-one.

Structure:
Active ingredient - acyclovir 5 g
Excipients - nipazol, nipagin, Cremophor A6, A25 Cremophor, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, liquid paraffin oil, purified water.

Description:
A homogeneous cream white.

Pharmacological properties:
Acyclovir is active against Herpes simplex type 1 and 2 virus, Varicella zoster, Epstein Barr virus and cytomegalovirus. Thymidine kinase infected cells through a series of sequential reactions actively converts acyclovir to a mono-, di-, and triphosphate of acyclovir. Last interacts with the viral DNA polymerase and incorporated into the DNA which is synthesized for new viruses. Thus, a "defective" virus DNA that results in suppression of virus replication of new generations.

Pharmacokinetics:
When local use is practically not absorbed through intact skin does not fall into the systemic circulation.

Indications:
Infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by Herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, genital herpes, herpes zoster, chickenpox.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to acyclovir and other ingredients.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Dosage and administration:
